The Evolution of the Track Layout

| In the begriming the layout was a simple loop around the upper garden and behind the pond. |  |

| To alleviate the pain of lugging the trains back into the house each night, an extension was built underneath the hummock deck to a train shed in 04. |  |

| The logical extension beyond the train shed was a trestle through the Shade Garden. This process evolved over a period of three years, 06 - 08. |  |

| The final portion of the extension was a loop around a new pond to a connection to the upper pond, and an inclusion of a train yard, 08-09. |  |

| The next evolution of the layout is the addition of miniature buildings and train signals. This stage continues as of this posting. |  |
